Is the Toyota RAV4 a hybrid — do I need to charge it? +
The RAV4 is a self-charging hybrid — you never need to plug it in. The electric battery charges automatically through regenerative braking and the petrol engine. You simply fill it with regular petrol at any service station, exactly like a conventional car.
Can I drive the SUV on a standard car licence? +
Yes. The Toyota RAV4 is a standard passenger car and falls within the category B licence. A normal full driving licence is all you need — no special licence required.
Is the SUV available at all Value Car locations? +
The Toyota RAV4 is available at Dublin Airport (T1 & T2), Shannon Airport, Cork Airport, Belfast City Airport, Belfast International Airport, Dublin City and Mullingar. We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during peak summer season.
Can I pick up in Dublin and drop off in Cork or Belfast? +
Yes — and unlike the large multinational chains, we don’t charge extra for one-way hires between our Irish locations. Northern Ireland drop-offs are also included at no extra cost.
Does the SUV come with the meet & greet service? +
Yes. All our vehicles, including the SUV, come with our personal meet & greet service at airport locations. A Value Car representative will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a name board — no shuttle buses, no desk queues.
How fuel efficient is the RAV4 hybrid? +
The Toyota RAV4 hybrid achieves excellent fuel economy — typically around 5–6 litres per 100km in mixed driving conditions. This makes it significantly more economical than a conventional petrol SUV, particularly in city traffic where the electric motor does more of the work.
